How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About The Role:

    A mid-sized forward‑thinking, design‑driven placemaking studio is looking to welcome an Urban Designer into their London team. This role would suit someone who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys working on ambitious, large‑scale residential master planning projects across the UK.


    You will be joining a studio that places real emphasis on creating sustainable, people focused neighbourhoods and delivering thoughtful, well‑crafted places.     Key Responsibilities:

    • The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of large-scale residential masterplans, neighbourhood layouts and spatial frameworks for UK-based projects
    • You will support the progression of projects from early visioning through to design coding, regulatory plans and detailed design stages
    • You will prepare clear, engaging drawings, diagrams and visual materials using both digital tools and hand-sketching
    • You will participate in workshops, presentations, and engagement sessions with clients, consultants and community groups
    • You will produce well-structured written and graphic material to communicate design intent and project narratives
    • You will work closely with senior team members to ensure design quality, project coordination and delivery standards are met


    Key Skills/Requirements:

    • A post-graduate qualification in Urban Design is essential
    • An ability to demonstrate experience working on large-scale urban design or master planning projects in the UK
    • Strong understanding of residential typologies, placemaking principles and sustainable design approaches
    • Confident communicator with strong written, verbal and graphic presentation skills
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD, and strong hand-drawing ability
    • Ability to work proactively within a team and build positive relationships with client collaborators
