How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title: Production / General Operative (Pharmaceuticals)

    Location: Swindon (Kingfisher Drive)

    Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract

    Pay Rate: £13.86/hr + 22% Shift Allowance

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, alternating Early (07:00 - 15:00) and Late (15:00 - 22:45) shifts.

Overtime: Readily available on weekdays and weekends (Saturday/Sunday).

    About the Role

Join a global leader in scientific innovation where your daily work directly impacts patient health worldwide. Operating out of our advanced facility in Swindon, you will step into a highly regulated, precision-driven manufacturing and cleanroom environment.

As a General Operative, your primary focus will be supporting our aseptic and non-aseptic liquid filling and packaging lines. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with an eagle eye for detail, a methodical mindset, and a desire to build a career in the pharmaceutical sector.

    Key Responsibilities

Cleanroom Compliance: Maintain cleanroom integrity by strictly adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning, sanitation, and correct gowning protocol.

Licensing & Qualification: Complete targeted training to achieve and maintain a "Bronze License Badge" for Grade C/D production area access (requalifying every 2 years).

Material Handling & Operation: Safely transfer production components into classified cleanroom spaces; assist with loading the Part Washer and Autoclave equipment once trained.

Line Maintenance: Execute end-of-run line clearances, product labeling, and final retail packaging.

Quality & Data Integrity: Conduct crucial in-process weight checks and accurately fill out regulatory paperwork and site logbooks.

Defect Escalation: Actively spot and communicate any processing or material non-conformances immediately to Area Leaders or Quality Assurance representatives.

    What We Are Looking For

Education: GCSE Level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above), with strong basic numeracy and the ability to interpret complex written work instructions.

Experience: Prior experience working within a regulated environment is preferred (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Food Manufacturing, Automotive, Cosmetics, or general Precision Engineering).

Repetitive Concentration: An ability to maintain strict focus and concentration while executing precise, repetitive production routines.

Physical Fitness: Comfortable with a role that requires standing for sustained periods of time and lifting up to 15kg with reasonable adjustments.

The Patient-First Mindset: A strong methodical approach to everyday tasks, keeping health, safety, and strict quality control at the forefront of your work.

    Strict Cleanroom (GMP) Requirements

Because this facility manufactures highly sensitive pharmaceutical products, the following items and conditions are strictly prohibited inside the production zones and must be agreed to prior to employment:

No Cosmetics: Makeup, fake tan, tinted moisturizers, and temporary body art (e.g., henna) cannot be worn or brought into the area.

No Nail Enhancements: Nail varnish, false nails (gels, acrylics, tips), and eyelash extensions/false eyelashes are prohibited.

No Jewelry: All jewelry, studs, earrings, body piercings, watches, and chains must be removed before entering (only a single, plain metal wedding band is permitted).

Skin Health: Candidates must be free from active skin infections, open lesions, or cuts/grazes.

    What We Offer

Competitive hourly pay with a consistent 22% shift premium on top.

Generous overtime structures for weekend work.

Comprehensive company healthcare schemes and annual incentive bonuses.

Uniform and all specialty Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided directly on site.

Impeccable long-term career progression and development tracks within a global life sciences enterprise.

Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality. No terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate against any of the protected characteristics that fall under the Equality Act 2010. We encourage and welcome applications from all sections of society and are more than happy to discuss reasonable adjustments and/or additional arrangements as required to support your application.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
