How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The school is recognised for its strong academic standards, inclusive ethos and supportive learning environment, where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential and staff are valued as part of a collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Science Teacher to join a successful Science department in a full-time, permanent position, teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE.

    The Role

    * Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE (Key Stage 4).

    * Inspire students to develop curiosity, scientific thinking and a strong understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

    * Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve their full potential.

    * Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using assessment to inform planning and targeted intervention.

    * Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND and high prior attainment.

    * Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where high expectations are maintained.

    * Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the Science department.

    * Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, school events and wider school life.

    * Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement in line with school policies.

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the Science Teacher team continues to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

    * Experience teaching Science at secondary level.

    * Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach GCSE Science.

    * A specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics is welcomed.

    * A passion for inspiring young people to develop confidence and enjoyment in Science.

    * Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

    * The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

    * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

    The School Offers

    * A permanent, full-time position with a September start.

    * A welcoming, collaborative and supportive leadership team.

    * Well-resourced Science laboratories and excellent teaching facilities.

    * High-quality CPD and opportunities for career progression.

    * A positive staff culture with a strong focus on wellbeing.

    * Competitive salary in line with the appropriate pay scale.

If you are a passionate Science Teacher looking to join a supportive secondary school where academic excellence, inclusion and student success are at the heart of everything they do, we would love to hear from you
