How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in education? Do you enjoy working with children and want to support their learning through the medium of Welsh?

Whether you're a school leaver, career changer, graduate, or simply looking for a meaningful new opportunity, Vision for Education's Trainee Teaching Assistant Programme is designed to help you take your first steps into the classroom.

No previous school experience or qualifications are required. We'll provide you with high-quality training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to gain paid classroom experience in welcoming Welsh-medium schools across Swansea.

    Why Choose This Opportunity?

This is more than just a job—it's the chance to build a long-term career while making a positive difference to children's education every day.

You will receive comprehensive training before beginning paid placements in schools, allowing you to develop the confidence, skills, and practical experience needed to succeed as a Teaching Assistant.

As you gain experience, we'll help you discover the areas of education that interest you most, supporting your career every step of the way.

    What You Will Be Doing

Working alongside experienced teachers and school staff, you'll help pupils to learn, grow, and achieve their potential by:

    Supporting children during classroom lessons.
Working with small groups to reinforce learning.
Providing one-to-one support for pupils who need additional guidance.
Helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Building strong relationships with pupils and staff while gaining valuable classroom experience.
Following a successful interview and completion of safeguarding and suitability checks, we will work with you to secure paid placements in local schools.

    Explore Different Areas of Education

One of the benefits of supply work is the opportunity to discover where your strengths and interests lie. You may gain experience in:

    Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
    Key Stage 1
    Key Stage 2
    Secondary education
    Additional Learning Needs (ALN) settings
This variety allows you to build experience across different age groups and educational environments while developing your career.

We Are Looking For People Who Are:-

Passionate about supporting children and young people.
Fluent in spoken and written Welsh.
    Caring, patient, and approachable.
    Positive, reliable, and enthusiastic.
Strong communicators who enjoy working as part of a team.
Keen to learn and develop through training and CPD.
Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the DBS Update Service.
    What You Will Receive

When you join Vision for Education, you'll benefit from:

Competitive daily pay from £92.56 per day (PAYE).
Free, high-quality training to prepare you for the classroom.
Paid placements in local Welsh-medium schools.
