How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading experience design consultancy is seeking a talented User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, researchers and technologists. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful digital products and services across a range of sectors, helping organisations create experiences that genuinely meet user needs.

    Salary: Up to £70k

    Based: London (Hybrid)

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping products and services through evidence-based research, working on projects that range from improving customer journeys to transforming essential services used by large and diverse audiences. This role would suit someone who combines strong research expertise with a collaborative, adaptable mindset and enjoys influencing both project outcomes and client thinking.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Planning and conducting user research using methods such as usability testing, depth interviews, diary studies and surveys
    • Analysing and synthesising research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
    • Helping define user needs and shape project direction throughout the product and service lifecycle
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to align research activities with organisational goals
    • Facilitating workshops, playback sessions and insight-sharing activities
    • Working closely with UX and service designers, developers and product owners
    • Contributing to research standards, best practices and team ways of working
    • Leading research workstreams on smaller engagements and supporting larger, more strategic programmes

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in user research within digital product or service development environments and be comfortable working independently across the full research lifecycle. GDS experience is a must!

    They will also bring:

    • Experience planning, recruiting, conducting and analysing research studies
    • The ability to communicate findings clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders
    • Strong storytelling skills and confidence presenting insights that drive action
    • Experience working in agile, iterative delivery environments
    • An understanding of how to balance user needs with business and technical considerations
    • Familiarity with tools such as Dovetail, Miro, Lookback, Optimal Workshop and relevant analytics platforms
    • Strong report-writing and workshop facilitation skills
    • A willingness to support broader UX and design activities, including wireframing or prototyping where required

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be eligible for security clearance.

If you're a research-driven professional who enjoys turning user insight into meaningful outcomes and wants to work on projects that make a real difference, apply today.
