How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Expedition Designer



    London | Hybrid


    We are seeking an experienced Expedition Designer to support the planning, development and delivery of complex yacht based expeditions, with a particular focus on remote and polar destinations.


    Working closely with a high-performing yachting and travel team, you will play a key role in designing exceptional journeys, ensuring every expedition is thoughtfully planned, operationally robust and delivers an outstanding guest experience.


    This role would suit someone with previous experience in expedition travel, expedition planning or expedition operations, combined with a strong understanding of yacht operations through either time spent onboard or experience with a yacht expedition operator.


    Key Responsibilities


    Expedition Design & Planning

    • Design and develop bespoke yacht based itineraries and expedition programmes
    • Research destinations, activities, seasonal conditions and operational requirements
    • Build detailed voyage plans, logistics frameworks and contingency arrangements
    • Identify new routes, experiences and opportunities to enhance the expedition portfolio
    • Ensure programmes balance guest experience, safety and operational feasibility



    Operations & Logistics

    • Support the day to day planning and coordination of expedition voyages
    • Manage permits, clearances, supplier relationships and operational documentation
    • Liaise with captains, crew, guides and local partners to ensure smooth delivery
    • Monitor voyage readiness and provide support before, during and after departures
    • Assist with risk management processes and operational best practice


    Polar Expertise

    • Provide specialist knowledge of Arctic and Antarctic destinations and operations
    • Advise on ice conditions, landing sites, seasonal considerations and regional regulations
    • Support compliance with relevant environmental and operational standards



    Team Support

    • Coordinate and support expedition guides and specialist staff.
    • Contribute to training materials, operational procedures and expedition briefings
    • Act as a key point of contact between vessel, expedition and shoreside teams
    • Provide support during voyage preparation and delivery



    Guest Experience

    • Help create seamless, enriching and memorable guest journeys
    • Support guest briefings, special requests and bespoke expedition requirements
    • Contribute destination knowledge, research and expedition content where required


    About You


    Previous experience within expedition travel, expedition planning or expedition

    operations.

    Strong understanding of yacht operations, either through onboard experience or work with a yacht expedition operator.

    Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

    Comfortable managing multiple moving parts within complex travel programmes.

    Passionate about adventure travel, exploration and delivering exceptional experiences.

    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.


    A particular interest in, or experience of, polar regions would be highly advantageous.
