How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Summary


    To support the Human Resources (HR) team in delivering an efficient and professional service to employees and managers, whilst developing knowledge, skills, and behaviours through a Level 3 HR apprenticeship programme.

    This role is suitable for a school leaver looking to start a career in Human Resources and gain practical experience in a busy manufacturing environment.


    Key Responsibilities



    1. HR Administration

    • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team
    • Maintain accurate employee records on HR systems (e.g. Workday)
    • Assist with preparing HR documents such as letters, contracts, and reports
    • Ensure employee files and records are up to date and compliant

    2. Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Support recruitment activities, including posting adverts and arranging interviews
    • Assist with candidate communications and interview scheduling
    • Help prepare onboarding documentation for new starters
    • Support new employee inductions and orientation sessions

    3. Employee Support

    • Act as a first point of contact for basic HR queries from employees
    • Provide guidance on HR processes, referring more complex queries to the HR team
    • Promote HR systems and tools and support employees in using them

    4. Employee Relations Support

    • Provide administrative support for employee relations processes (e.g. Absence, disciplinary, grievance cases)
    • Assist with maintaining accurate records and documentation
    • Support absence tracking and reporting

    5. Learning & Development

    • Assist in organising training sessions and maintaining training records
    • Support the coordination of development activities
    • Take an active role in own learning and development through the apprenticeship programme

    6. HR Systems & Data

    • Input and update information on HR systems and databases
    • Support data accuracy and reporting
    • Assist with basic HR data analysis under guidance
    • Support payroll processes by preparing relevant data where required

    7. Team & Project Support

    • Support HR projects and initiatives as required
    • Assist with employee engagement activities and communications
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the site

    Learning & Development (Apprenticeship Requirements)

    • Work towards achieving a Level 3 HR Support qualification (CIPD or equivalent)
    • Attend all required training sessions and complete coursework within agreed deadlines
    • Apply learning from the apprenticeship programme to day-to-day tasks
    • Develop understanding of HR processes, employment law basics, and workplace behaviours

    Qualifications & Entry Requirements

    • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
    • Strong interest in developing a career in Human Resources or Business Administration
    • No previous HR experience required

    Skills & Behaviours

    • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
    • Reliable, professional, and responsible approach to work

    Working Conditions

    • Office-based role within a manufacturing environment
    • Regular interaction with employees, managers, and HR team
    • May require flexibility to support business needs
