How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    OptimalSlope is seeking an experienced mining or geotechnical professional to help communicate innovative ideas to the global mining industry.

    This is not a traditional marketing role.

    We are looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys writing, sharing insights, and engaging with industry discussions. The ideal candidate understands the challenges facing geotechnical engineers, mine planners, and mining companies, and can help translate technical expertise into compelling thought leadership.

    What You'll Do

    Working closely with our leadership team and technical experts, you will help:

    • Develop thought leadership themes and content strategies
    • Create LinkedIn posts and industry commentary
    • Transform technical concepts into engaging industry content
    • Identify emerging topics and industry trends
    • Suggest article, webinar, conference and partnership opportunities
    • Help build visibility among mining companies, engineering consultancies and mining software providers


    Who We're Looking For

    You may be:

    • A geotechnical engineer
    • A mining engineer
    • A mine planning specialist
    • A technical consultant
    • A former software industry professional with mining expertise
    • A retired or semi-retired industry expert looking for a flexible engagement

    Experience in one or more of the following would be highly valuable:

    • Open pit mine design
    • Slope stability
    • Geotechnical engineering
    • Mine planning and optimisation
    • Mining software
    • Consulting


    Desired Qualities

    • Strong written communication skills
    • Curiosity about industry innovation
    • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
    • Active interest in LinkedIn and professional networking
    • Commercial awareness and understanding of mining project economics


    Engagement Structure

    • Remote
