How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title: Speech & Language Therapist (Band 7) — Maternity Cover

    Location: South Kensington, London (SW7)

Hours: Full time, term time only

Salary: Up to £55k or day rate if you prefer

    Contract: Fixed-term, 1-year maternity cover

    About the role:

A specialist independent SEND day school in South Kensington is seeking an experienced Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to cover a one-year maternity leave. The school supports children and young people with unique learning profiles — including autism, social communication difficulties, dyslexia and dyspraxia — through a mainstream-style curriculum built around a fully integrated therapy model, where therapists work within the school day alongside teaching and pastoral staff rather than in a separate clinic.

As a highly specialist therapist, you'll manage a complex caseload, deliver and oversee assessment and intervention, and set communication targets that feed directly into each pupil's individual education plan. Working closely with parents, teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll lead on progress reporting and annual-review contributions, and support therapy assistants and students. This is a hands-on, collaborative post ideally suited to someone who thrives in an embedded, whole-school therapeutic environment.

    You'll need:

    * HCPC registration and significant post-qualification SLT experience

    * Proven experience with children with SEN — ideally autism and social communication needs

    * Strong assessment, care-planning and complex-case management skills

    * Confidence supervising, and working within a multidisciplinary team

    * A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children

    In return:

    * Fully integrated, well-resourced therapy team

    * Workplace pension, daily on-site lunch and twice-weekly breakfast

    * A supportive, specialist setting with genuine multidisciplinary collaboration

To apply, send your latest CV. All applicants must hold current HCPC registration
