How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

As Underwriter, you'll be responsible for assessing residential development finance opportunities, preparing credit papers, managing due diligence and driving transactions through to drawdown. You'll work alongside an experienced origination team and gain exposure to a broad range of development projects across the UK.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and analyse development finance proposals, including project viability, borrower strength and security assessment.

    • Conduct detailed financial and appraisal analysis using specialist development finance models.

    • Accompany Lending Directors on borrower meetings and site visits.

    • Prepare high-quality credit papers for Credit Committee.

    • Draft facility letters and manage conditions precedent.

    • Instruct and liaise with solicitors, valuers and monitoring surveyors.

    • Manage KYC, source of wealth/funds and regulatory requirements.

    • Take ownership of transactions from credit approval through to completion.

    • Deliver a high level of service to borrowers, brokers and professional partners.

    About You

    • Experience within Development Finance, Real Estate Finance or Property Lending.

    • Strong credit analysis and credit writing skills.

    • Good understanding of residential development projects and lending structures.

    • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.

    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • A proactive and commercially minded approach.

    Why Consider This Opportunity?

    • Join a growing and well-funded specialist lender.

    • Work within a highly respected Development Finance team.

    • Exposure to a varied and interesting portfolio of development transactions.

    • Genuine long-term career progression opportunities.

    • Hybrid working model with a London-based team.
