How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    On behalf of our client, a leading specialist off-shore litigation firm, Personnel 2000 are recruiting for a Litigation Associate to join a growing and dynamic team in their Cayman Islands Office.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide high-quality legal input across all client work, including research, drafting court documents, and reviewing documentation.
    • Communicate with clients, counsel, and courts, preparing cases for hearings and trials.
    • Handle contentious matters in areas such as insolvency, restructuring, commercial disputes, fraud, asset recovery, regulatory enforcement, trust disputes, and alternative dispute resolution.
    • Advocate in court for suitable applications and support senior lawyers and leading counsel as required.
    • Take personal responsibility for managing cases effectively and efficiently.
    • Collaborate with associates, partners, and paralegals, delegating tasks as appropriate.
    • Contribute to the team’s business development initiatives within the Cayman Islands and internationally.
    • Adhere to firm policies and procedures, particularly in risk management and compliance.
    • Manage and participate in additional projects as assigned by partners.


    Qualifications:

    • Legal qualification from Cayman Islands, UK, or another Common Law jurisdiction.
    • 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
    • Relevant litigation experience in areas such as insolvency, restructuring, or commercial disputes.
    • Strong drafting, research, and written/verbal English skills.
    • Proficient in using research platforms, document management systems, and Data Rooms.
    • Knowledge of time recording and billing disciplines.
