How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A high-growth unicorn business is looking to hire an Employee Relations Specialist to join its UK People team. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment where the UK business is scaling quickly and the people function is developing to support that growth.

This is a newly created position as the firm's UK operations are expanding rapidly and managers need practical, confident and legally sound support across a broad employee relations caseload. This role will act as a key point of contact for managers, helping them deal with people matters clearly, consistently and commercially.

It will suit someone who enjoys pace, high-volume casework and working close to the business, rather than someone looking for a highly structured or heavily corporate ER environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a scaling organisation where processes are still developing and where judgement, clarity and pace really matter.

    Key duties

    • Manage employee relations cases from end to end, including performance, conduct, absence, probation and dismissals.
    • Support managers with PIPs, probation reviews, sickness absence and early-stage performance concerns.
    • Provide legally sound and commercially practical advice on employee relations matters.
    • Draft clear and accurate letters, outcome documents and case correspondence.
    • Support grievance processes, investigations and informal issue resolution.
    • Coach managers through live ER situations and help build their confidence and capability.
    • Identify recurring themes across ER cases and support improvements to guidance, templates and processes.
    • Assist with right to work, employee data and compliance-related people matters where required.
    • Work closely with colleagues across People, Talent, Legal, Finance and commercial leadership teams.

The successful candidate will need strong UK employee relations experience and the confidence to manage a busy caseload with appropriate autonomy. Sector background is less important than practical ER capability, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, commercially driven environment.

You will have a good working knowledge of UK employment law, strong drafting skills and experience advising managers on performance, absence, conduct and probation matters. You will also need to be comfortable working in a scaling business where processes are still developing and where pace, clarity and attention to detail are important.

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth unicorn business at an important stage of development and play a visible role in strengthening employee relations practice. The role offers the chance to work closely with managers, influence the way ER matters are handled and contribute to the development of a more consistent and effective people function.

The position is based in London with five days a week in the office.
