How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Legal Counsel - In-house role

    Employment Counsel


    • 7+PQE ideal
    • Location: London
    • Type: Permanent, full time
    • Experience with Financial Services clients is ideal
    • £125,000 - £140,000 DOE + benefits


    This is a Senior Position within a Global Financial Services organisation seeking a 7+ PQE Employment Counsel to take the lead on internal and international project work, liaising with key stakeholders on multiple matters. This is a newly created position within the wider legal function, a symptom of the Employment function's growing remit.


    The Opportunity

    • Working with the Head of Employment law in a lean team, you will be responsible for the management of projects and day-to-day employment work
    • You will work across the UK and European business units with further global remits available long-term
    • You will be required to provide pragmatic and effective legal advice and support to the People function, and work closely with internal and external legal support
    • This role will encompass advising on a wide variety of employment issues, including but not limited to disciplinaries and grievances, recruitment, restructures and organisational changes, contractual issues and reviews, policies, compensation and benefits, business transfers and service provision changes, redundancies, negotiated exits and regulatory issues

    About you

    • Be a qualified employment lawyer with at least 7 years post-qualification experience (experience with advising regulated financial services entities a plus)
    • Possess a thorough understanding of UK employment law
    • Could think analytically and pragmatically and provide commercial, effective and proactive advice and guidance
    • Have the confidence to act independently, take decisions and challenge the business where necessary
    • Have strong interpersonal skills, an enthusiasm for the job you do, and a sense of humour.
    • Be able to foster and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Be able to organise and prioritise workload and work under time pressures and deadlines.
