NPD Technologist - Exclusive

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and much-loved food business in Hull for an NPD Technologist to join their growing development team. If you love getting your hands stuck into new food ideas and want to be part of the journey from lightbulb moment to launch day, this could be the perfect role for you.

Working Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, you will be joining a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where every week brings a new brief, a new flavour, or a new challenge to get stuck into.

As NPD Technologist, you will be right at the heart of the development team, helping to turn customer briefs into exciting new products, all while making sure everything ticks the boxes on shelf-life, testing, and cooking instructions. You will team up with the NPD Chef to cook up new and exciting recipes, balancing great taste with the practical realities of consumer, customer, business, commercial, operational, nutritional and process development needs.

Generating detailed and accurate trial reports and records will be a key part of your day-to-day, and you will keep yourself fully up to speed with customer codes of practice and brand standards. You will have your finger on the pulse when it comes to packaging developments, liaising directly with suppliers, and you will get involved in benchmarking panels, sharing your findings with colleagues and customers alike.

To thrive in this role, you will need a genuine passion for great food and an eye for quality, along with the confidence to make a brilliant first impression and present yourself well. A positive, friendly, and driven attitude with a naturally outgoing personality will help you build strong relationships with everyone from shop floor colleagues to senior stakeholders. Experience in an NPD environment within UK food manufacturing. Above all, you should love working somewhere fast-moving, where change is constant and expectations are high, because that is exactly where this role will keep you.
