How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A long-established precision engineering company in Stoke on Trent is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) to join its manufacturing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will programme, set and operate Fanuc-controlled Turning machines, producing high-quality precision engineered components for a wide range of industries.

    The role offers a competitive salary up to £37,500 per year dependent on experience, company bonus scheme, generous annual leave, free onsite parking and excellent overtime opportunities with enhanced rates of pay.

    As the CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) your key responsibilities will be:

    * Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines.

    * Producing high-quality precision machined components to engineering drawings.

    * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.

    * Carrying out tooling changes and machine set-ups.

    * Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are maintained.

    * Identifying and resolving machining issues where required.

    * Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

    * Supporting production targets whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship.

    The CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) will have the following skills and experience:

    * Previous experience programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines is essential.

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

    * Strong background within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

    * Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

    * Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

    You will be working 37-hours per week between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday, with Friday’s off. Overtime is regularly available and paid at enhanced rates of providing excellent earning potential.
