How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Refrigeration Engineer

    Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
    Salary: £47,676 Basic Salary + Overtime
    OTE: £55,000 - £60,000+
    Hours: 40 Hours Per Week + 1 in 4 On-Call Rota
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading facilities management business supporting a major UK supermarket contract.

    The Role

    As a Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a network of supermarket sites within your allocated area.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
    Diagnosing and repairing refrigeration system faults
    Working on commercial CO₂ refrigeration pack systems
    Completing service visits and breakdown repairs efficiently
    Conducting minor refrigeration installations and modifications
    Ensuring all work is completed to industry and compliance standards
    Maintaining accurate service reports and documentation

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
    F-Gas Category 1 Certification
    Full UK Driving Licence
    Commercial refrigeration service and maintenance experience
    Desirable

    Supermarket or retail refrigeration experience
    CO₂ refrigeration experience
    Hydrocarbon refrigerant experience
    IPAF 3a & 3b certification
    Electrical fault-finding skills
    18th Edition qualification
    Additional training can be provided where required.
