Job Title: Mobile Vehicle Mechanic
Location: London & Bristol (Company Van + Fuel)
Contract: Permanent | Full-time
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
Working Hours: Days: 08:00-20:00 (incl. travel) | Nights: 20:00-08:00 (incl. travel)
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic - Rail to join a mobile rail team supporting multiple sites across London and Bristol your main working base will be London.
You'll work on advanced rail power systems, delivering maintenance, fault‑finding and repairs in a safety‑critical environment.

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites
Diagnose faults and perform repairs using technical drawings and tools
Complete accurate maintenance documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain high HSQE standards at all times
Use IT systems for reporting and diagnostics
Track parts usage and support stock control
Travel between sites as part of the role
Support customer interactions and sign‑off when requiredWhat You'll Need to Succeed
Essential:
Mechanical, rail, vehicle mechanic or engineering background
Modifications, Servicing, Filter Changes, Belt changes, Diagnostics, Complex fault finding experience
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of health & safety
Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
Basic IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Full UK driving licence
Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
Strong organisation and time management skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
