How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a technically strong Functional Analyst with a background in Java development and a passion for diving deep into complex payment flows? A major financial institution in Brussels is expanding its distributed development squad and is looking for an experienced analyst to join its team.

This role sits within a high‑impact payments domain, working closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders across Belgium and France. If you enjoy bridging functional and technical worlds, shaping API documentation, and refining user stories that genuinely guide development, this is a role where your expertise will be felt immediately.

You’ll join a distributed Java development squad, acting as the functional and technical bridge between business requirements and implementation. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and refining API documentation (Swagger experience essential)

Understanding Java‑based code structures to guide developers effectively

Leading and contributing to Agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, refinement, three amigos

Writing complete, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria and edge cases

Deep‑dive analysis into functional payment flows and system behaviours

Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries

We’re looking for someone who brings:

Hands-on experience in Java API environments

Strong knowledge of Swagger and API documentation practices

Ability to read and understand Java code (no coding required)

Solid Agile experience and comfort working in a mature squad

A detail‑oriented mindset – someone who goes beyond surface-level analysis

Background in financial services, ideally in Payments or International Payments

Bonus: You may be an ex‑Java developer who transitioned into functional analysis

    Extra Details:

    Brussels city centre

Hybrid: 50% on‑site (alternating 2 days one week / 3 days the next)

Remote work must be performed from within Belgium

    Start: ASAP

Duration: Until the end of the year, with an extension option

Candidates must be able to speak French (frequent interaction with teams in France) and English

For immediate consideration, forward an up-to-date CV today
