How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Area Sales Manager - UK & NWE

    We are now seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our UK commercial team.
    Job Summary & Role
    • To leverage value from all customers and prospects within an assigned geographic region or regions, exceeding the regional sales targets for all allocated product categories, taking market share at every opportunity
    • To convert high value business opportunities from both existing customers and prospects across all product categories
    ​
    • To successfully create and accurately manage the sales pipeline process, leading to conversion of opportunities across all DSE product categories and other Control group company product ranges as required
    • Manage the sales performance of any distributors performance for those appointed in your region for their allocated geography and Control group product groups
    ​
    ​Requirements:
    * Knowledge of working within a company that has a technical product or service in a commercial role within the control electronics related sector
    * Proven relationships with key decision makers in the control electronics sector within the U.K. & Ireland
    * Proven technical and commercial selling and negotiation skills
    * Commercially astute results orientated team player
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills
    * Ability to work from a home office and work independently in a field-based role
    * Ability to travel internationally adequately to cover assigned territory
    * Ability to recognise market trends and evaluate competitor strengths and weaknesses
    * Full driving licence
    * Sales role within a technically orientated company/product range, preferably within the control electronics industry in the U.K & Ireland
    * Proven experience of successful demand generation
    * Min 5 GCSE (or equivalent), Maths and English essential

    ​Key Duties & Responsibilities:
    * Drive sales growth and market expansion within the assigned territory across all Control & Automation (C&A) brands and product categories
    * Maintain a strong focus on developing the DSE Control product group
    * Develop and implement effective regional sales and distribution strategies (where applicable)
    * Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing activities in collaboration with distribution partners to increase market share
    * Identify and develop new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers
    * Conduct regular visits to customers and prospects to build trust, reinforce the C&A brand, and grow profitable business
    * Act as the voice of the customer within the C&A group, while representing the business externally as a trusted partner
    * Promote both existing and new C&A products to customers
    * Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction
    * Monitor competitor activity and stay informed on market developments
    * Conduct market research within the customer base to respond effectively to changing conditions
