How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Forklift Engineer

    Location: Basildon, Essex (accepting applications from surrounding areas)
    Salary: £40,000-£50,000 DOE

    Hours: 07:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 16.00 finish Friday (49 hour week)

    Job type: Full time, Permanent

    Interaction Technical have partnered with an expanding family-owned business operating within the forklift supplier and repair industry on their search for an experienced field service engineer / forklift mechanic to join their growing team. Our client has been established for nearly 50 years and are now at a stage of growth where they are looking to add an engineer to the team.     The Package:

    Salary between £40,000-£50,000 salary dependent of experience
    Company van & fuel card + limited personal use with van
    28 days holiday – Inclusive of public holidays
    Overtime paid @ 1.5x Saturdays

    The Role:

    Accurately diagnosing faults, servicing and carrying out emergency repairs/breakdowns on forklift and plant machinery.

    Collaborate with customers surrounding the lifting and handling products.
    The ability to work independently within the customer sites and collaborate with colleagues to ensure documentation and the perfect solution is offered. 
    Actively travelling to sites and carrying out repairs of the equipment and creating solutions.
    Working on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.

    The Requirements:   

    Previous experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
    Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience (advantageous)
    Previous experience working in the Forklift, Plant, HGV and/or Agricultural industries (advantageous)
    Experience working with engines and batteries (advantageous)
    Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
    Full UK Drivers License
