How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Wakefield
    Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Basic | OTE: £54,000

    The Role
    As an MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim), you'll be responsible for stripping and refitting accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring all mechanical, electrical and trim components are reinstalled to manufacturer standards.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components during the vehicle repair process.
    ·Diagnosing and replacing damaged parts as required.
    ·Carrying out vehicle inspections before and after repairs.
    ·Working alongside panel beaters and paint technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
    ·Using diagnostic equipment where required to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
    ·Ensuring all repairs comply with manufacturer repair methods and safety standards.
    ·Maintaining accurate job records and completing work within agreed timescales.
    ·Carrying out final quality checks before vehicles are returned to customers.

    About You
    This role would suit an experienced MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced Bodyshop environment.

    You'll ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within a Bodyshop or accident repair centre.
    ·Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
    ·Strong mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting skills.
    ·Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment is advantageous.
    ·Good understanding of modern vehicle systems and manufacturer repair methods.
    ·Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
    ·The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
