How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A nationally focused Commissioning Engineer role working on the installation, commissioning, and fault-finding of low-voltage generator systems and temporary power solutions. This is a field-based position offering varied project work, customer interaction, and technical ownership across critical power systems.

    Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    Commission and install low-voltage diesel generator systems and associated control equipment
    Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across hire fleet and customer-owned equipment
    Diagnose electrical and control system faults
    Configure and test control systems including DSE and ComAp controllers
    Install ATS systems, synchronising equipment, and temporary power distribution systems
    Conduct load bank testing and system performance verification
    Provide on-site technical support and respond to breakdowns when required
    Complete commissioning and service documentation using digital systems
    Support installation teams and collaborate with project delivery teams
    Ensure all work is carried out in line with RAMS and health & safety requirementsProfile

    The Successful Candidate:

    Electrically qualified via apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
    Minimum 3 years' experience in power generation, commissioning, or electrical service roles
    Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities
    Experience with generator control systems (DSE, ComAp or similar)
    Knowledge of ATS systems, synchronisation, and LV power distribution
    Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    PLC experience or diagnostics knowledge advantageous
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
    Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-facing approachJob Offer
