How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a skilled HGV Mechanic looking for a secure, permanent role with an established team that genuinely values your expertise?
We are looking for a proactive, safety-focused professional to join a thriving division in Lincoln. In this vital role, you will ensure a varied fleet of highway, central, and construction vehicles—along with specialised plant and equipment—are fully operational and safe to deploy.
If you take pride in precision maintenance and want to work for a business that supports your career growth, this is the move for you!
    The Offer:
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year + readily available overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (Great work-life balance!)
    Type: Full-time, Permanent
Benefits: Company pension, Private Medical & Dental insurance, Health & Wellbeing programme, Life insurance, and free On-site parking.
Culture: A highly supportive environment. As a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we also offer a guaranteed interview to suitably qualified service personnel, veterans, and reservists.
    Key Responsibilities:
Inspections & Compliance: Inspect the HGV and light commercial fleet in strict line with DVSA and operator licence regulations.
Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems across a diverse vehicle and plant asset list.
Routine Maintenance: Complete servicing (fluids, lubricants, parts) to maximise fleet longevity.
Workshop Control: Coordinate maintenance schedules with the Transport Manager, log all parts used, and maintain standard operating procedures (SSOW).
    What We Are Looking For:
A proven track record as an HGV or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic (experience with plant machinery is a plus).
NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of vehicle mechanics, auto-electrics, and hydraulics.
    Up-to-date familiarity with DVSA compliance.
Valid UK Driving Licence (an HGV licence is a major advantage!).
