How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    County Durham Temp to Perm
    Metal Fabricator Location: County Durham

An established manufacturing business is seeking a Metal Fabricator to join its growing production team.

This position is ideally suited to a fabricator who enjoys working with lightweight aluminium products and assemblies. While welding experience is desirable, this is not a dedicated welding role. The focus is on fabrication, assembly, finishing, and producing high-quality components to specification.

The Role Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling aluminium products to a high standard, ensuring quality and production targets are consistently met.

    Key responsibilities include:
Fabricating and assembling aluminium components from engineering drawings.
Cutting, drilling, folding and preparing materials for manufacture.
Using a variety of hand tools and workshop equipment.
Carrying out basic welding activities where required.
Ensuring all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
    Conducting self-inspection of completed work.
Working closely with colleagues across production to achieve delivery deadlines.
Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop. What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working with aluminium, sheet metal or light gauge materials.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Good practical skills and a hands-on approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Desirable Experience
Basic MIG or TIG welding experience.
    Experience with aluminium fabrication.
Experience using workshop machinery such as guillotines, presses, saws or drills.
Background in architectural metalwork, façades, flashings or bespoke manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator looking to develop their career within a stable and growing manufacturing business. The role would particularly suit someone whose strengths lie in fabrication and assembly, with welding viewed as a useful secondary skill rather than the primary focus of the position.
