How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Supporting children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and associated learning difficulties

Providing one-to-one and small-group interventions tailored to individual pupil needs

Assisting with the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets

Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing

Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to observations, reviews, and support plans

Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting, or a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs

This role is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching or another child-focused profession

A calm, patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A positive attitude and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential

The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families

An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practice, or a willingness to undertake training

    What the School Offers

A welcoming, inclusive, and supportive school community

An experienced leadership team and dedicated SENCO

Ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities

A collaborative working environment with excellent mentoring

The opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's lives every day

Outstanding experience for graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or other child-focused professions

This is a full-time, term-time position, with working hours in line with the school day.

If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity within a welcoming and supportive school where you can make a lasting impact on young people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today to be considered for this exciting SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity starting in September 2026.
