How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    GOODS IN MANAGER

Salary: £34,000 - £35,000 per annum + Genuine Career Progression
    Sector: High-Volume Third-Party Logistics & Warehousing
    Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off | 6:00am – 6:00pm (12-hour shifts)

    ROLE SNAPSHOT

We are recruiting for an experienced Goods In Manager to take ownership of a busy Goods In operation within a high-volume distribution environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be trusted to manage your own department, lead your team, make decisions, and keep the operation moving. You'll be responsible for planning labour, managing workflow, maintaining standards, and ensuring customer service levels are consistently achieved.

This opportunity offers genuine long-term career progression within a growing logistics operation.

    ROLE PURPOSE

To take full ownership of the Goods In department and run it like a business within the wider operation. You'll be responsible for planning labour and workflow, managing people and performance, and ensuring product continues to move efficiently, even when volumes are high and warehouse capacity is under pressure.

This role requires someone who anticipates problems before they happen, takes ownership of solutions, and leads from the front.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Daily shift planning, deploying labour according to workload and operational priorities.

    * Managing warehouse capacity, identifying bottlenecks early and taking action to maintain flow.

    * Reallocating labour, adjusting priorities and managing breaks to maximise productivity.

    * Conducting return-to-work interviews and attendance reviews in line with company policy.

    * Carrying out investigations into conduct and performance matters.

    * Managing the day-to-day performance of the Goods In team.

    * Prioritising customer-critical work while maintaining operational efficiency.

    * Escalating issues with practical solutions and recommendations.

    * Forward planning for future workload, labour requirements and absence cover.

    * Maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and housekeeping throughout the shift.

    ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

We're looking for someone who demonstrates:

    * Ownership – Treats the department as their own business and takes responsibility for results.

    * Initiative – Makes informed decisions and solves problems without waiting to be asked.

    * Leadership – Comfortable managing people, holding difficult conversations, and maintaining standards.

    * Resilience – Performs well under pressure and remains calm when priorities change.

    * Planning Ability – Thinks ahead, organises resources effectively, and anticipates operational challenges.

    * Commercial Awareness – Understands the importance of service, productivity, and customer expectations.

    WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

A Goods In Manager who doesn't need constant direction.

Someone who walks the warehouse, identifies issues before they impact the operation, makes confident decisions, supports their team, and keeps both productivity and service levels on track.

A manager who reports back with solutions, not simply problems.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    * Previous experience as a Goods In Manager, Warehouse Manager, Shift Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or 3PL environment.

    * Experience managing labour planning, workflow, and operational priorities.

    * Experience conducting return-to-work meetings and managing performance.

    * Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse operation.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * Good IT skills and experience using warehouse management systems would be advantageous.

    PROGRESSION

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with genuine long-term career prospects
