How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Clerk of Works - Technical Advisor - Norfolk + East Anglia projects

A site-based quality, compliance and strategic planning role with a specialist design team, working on building and civil engineering projects across East Anglia

    The role

An experienced Clerk of Work with a breadth of project experience and a collaborative team approach, you’ll play a key role helping teams develop quality plans before projects scale up on site. You will provide proactive advice across the business and support on construction quality, planning, monitoring and testing aspects.

This is not a Clerk of Works role where you just inspect and identify problems.

It is a hands-on role to ensure best practice across design teams and will require someone who feels they could excel in a quality, compliance and problem-solving role.

    * Provide construction materials support — inspection, testing, specification guidance and monitoring of complex or high-quality works.

    * Engage with specialist teams to resolve technical and design matters.

    * Assist site teams with developing Project Quality Plans.

    * Best practice, specification guidance and quality standards.

    What's on offer

Join a team where your judgement is trusted, your experience is valued and you’ll be encouraged to help mentor others. A genuinely varied project portfolio from education, retail, commercial, medical and research facilities through to award-winning residential and civil engineering projects. Salary £48-£60k + car + benefits to reflect your project experience with potential for £65k for full MICWCI membership.

    About you

    * Around 15 years' construction experience gained with a main contractor.

    * A background as a Clerk of Works, Quality Manager or compliance specialist.

    * A strong eye for quality and detail and the standards knowledge to back it.

    * ICWCI membership, or working towards it, would be reflected in your salary.

    * Based locally in East Anglia and a willingness to work across the region
