How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller

    Yorkshire Precision Engineering Ltd (YPEL) is a successful and growing family-run subcontract engineering company based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

    We manufacture high-precision components for a wide range of industries including subsea, medical, hydraulic, oil & gas, food, and general engineering.

    Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join our skilled team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with modern machinery, varied work, and excellent rates of pay for the right candidate.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres to produce high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.

    Our milling section includes:

    * HAAS VF-4SS

    * HAAS VF4

    * Bridgeport V1000H (Heidenhain control)

    * HAAS Super Mini Mill

    Key responsibilities:

    * Setting and operating CNC milling machines

    * Producing precision batch work from 10-off to 1,000-off

    * Working to tight tolerances and quality standards

    * Manufacturing components from a range of materials including stainless steels, aluminium, plastics, and exotic alloys

    * Reading and working from engineering drawings

    * Carrying out in-process inspection checks

    * Deburring finished components when required

    * Maintaining a clean and organised working area

    Skills & Experience Required

    * Previous experience setting and operating CNC vertical milling machines

    * Strong experience with HAAS and/or Heidenhain controls

    * Experience working within a precision engineering environment

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Experience working to tight tolerances

    * Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

    * Able to work independently and as part of a team

    * Willing to support colleagues when needed

    Desirable (but not essential):

    Offline or on-machine programming experience

    Experience in a subcontract machining environment

    Hours

    40 hours per week

    4-day working week (Monday to Thursday)
    Choose from:

    6:00am – 4:30pm
    or

    7:00am – 5:30pm
