Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity in a secondary school setting?
Academics is recruiting on behalf of a supportive secondary school in Congleton that is seeking a knowledgeable and organised Science Technician to join their science department. The school is looking to appoint someone from September on a full-time, fixed-term basis.
The role will initially run until December, with the potential for extension beyond this date.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
School Science Technician - Role Information
Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons
Support teaching staff with the delivery of practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are readily available
Safely store and handle chemicals and scientific equipment
Assist with risk assessments and departmental safety procedures
Provide technical support to teaching staff and students where appropriate
School Science Technician - Applicant Requirements
Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school or educational setting
Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of laboratory procedures
Experience preparing practical resources and equipment for science lessons
Good awareness of health and safety requirements within a laboratory environment
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A relevant science qualification or degree (desirable)
