How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Heavy Plant Engineer

    Maidstone

    £42,000 - £48,000 + OT (OTE £70,000+) Van + Door to Door + Training

    Are you an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer looking to join one of the world's leading construction equipment manufacturers?

    NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a global OEM who are looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer to cover Kent and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business known for investing in its engineers, providing industry-leading training and offering long-term career progression.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of heavy construction machinery at customer sites, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

    The Role

    Service, maintain and repair heavy plant equipment at customer sites.
    Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
    Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
    Complete all relevant service documentation accurately.
    Deliver excellent customer service while representing a premium OEM.
    Cover Kent and the surrounding region.

    The Candidate

    Previous experience working on heavy plant, construction plant or agricultural machinery.
    Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
    Experience working as a Field Service Engineer or Mobile Plant Engineer.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
    Self-motivated with excellent customer-facing skills.

    £42,000 - £48,000 basic salary.
    Excellent overtime available (OTE £70,000+).
