How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Heavy Plant Engineer

    Ipswich
    £40,000 - £45,000 + Company Van + Overtime (OTE £60,000 - £75,000)

    NEOS Engineering are working with a well-established and growing organisation within the heavy plant and construction equipment sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer to cover the Ipswich and surrounding areas.

    The Role

    As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy plant and construction equipment at customer sites.

    You'll be the face of the business, providing a first-class service while ensuring machines are returned to service safely and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities

    Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery at customer sites.
    Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
    Complete planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns.
    Diagnose faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment where required.
    Inspect machines and identify additional repair opportunities.
    Complete all job sheets and service reports accurately.
    Work closely with the parts and service departments.
    Maintain high standards of health and safety.
    Deliver an excellent level of customer service.
    The Ideal Candidate

    We're looking to speak with engineers from one of the following backgrounds:

    Heavy Plant
    Construction Plant
    Agricultural Machinery
    You may currently be working as a:

    Heavy Plant Engineer
    Field Service Engineer
    Mobile Plant Engineer
    Construction Plant Engineer
    Plant Fitter
    Agricultural Engineer
    Mobile Service Engineer
    To be successful you'll ideally have:

    Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy plant or construction plant equipment.
    Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
    The ability to work independently in the field.
    A full UK driving licence.
    A positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
