How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Deputy Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering will be responsible for supporting the Head of the function i leading the team, focusing on handling strategic objectives. The role will maintain a small area in business partnering and provide cover to the Head of Financial Planning and Business Partnering. This position has the opportunity to work in an office (London or Leeds) or be fully remote.

    Description

    The Deputy Head of Finance Planning & Business Partnering will support oversight of the financial management and planning of the organisation. Your duties will include:

    leading on the preparation of other corporate reports with oversight from the Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering
    ongoing financial management, forecasting and reporting of budgets, including business partner support for specific directorates, providing financial oversight an challenge on business as usual and change activities
    supporting the budget process to develop the annual business plan
    providing support to Project Managers on the development of business cases for investment, product development and pricing approaches
    lead on the preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting the rest of the team in producing insights
    supporting the Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering with commissions from government, including updates to headcount and spending reviews.Profile

    The successful Deputy Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering will be a qualified CCAB accountant with a track record in leading and managing staff.

    You will need to be a confident decision maker that can influence stakeholders to help make financial decisions and go out and have experience in budgeting, forecasting and month-end processes.

    Previous exposure to writing executive level corporate reporting is desirable.

    Ideally you will come from a public sector or NHS background.
