How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for more than just your next role?

This is an opportunity to join one of London's most respected multidisciplinary consultancies, working on technically challenging projects alongside an established Building Services team with a genuine commitment to developing and promoting its people.

My client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality, mixed-use and heritage developments. Their engineers work closely with architects, surveyors, project managers and sustainability specialists, giving you exposure to projects from concept through to completion.

    Genuine Career Progression

My client has an excellent reputation for promoting from within. If your ambition is to become an Associate or Associate Director, you'll be joining a business that actively invests in developing its people and recognises performance, leadership and technical excellence.

This isn't a business where progression is limited by hierarchy-there is a clear and achievable pathway for those looking to take the next step in their career.

    Exciting & Diverse Projects

    Commercial Offices
    High-End Residential Developments
    Mixed-Use Schemes
    Healthcare Facilities

    Industrial & Logistics
    Hospitality & Leisure
    Heritage & Listed Buildings
Major Refurbishment & Decarbonisation ProjectsThe multidisciplinary nature of the business means you'll collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines, giving you far greater project exposure than a traditional engineering consultancy.

    The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects from feasibility through to completion whilst supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the mechanical design of building services projects.
Producing detailed HVAC, public health and sustainable building services designs.
Carrying out calculations using industry-standard software.
Preparing specifications, reports and technical documentation.

They offer an exceptional Christmas working arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely from anywhere in the world for an extended period over the festive season-typically providing an additional 2-4 weeks of flexibility beyond standard annual leave. It's a unique benefit that reflects the trust and flexibility embedded within the company's culture.

    A Unique Opportunity

Having worked closely with the Hiring Director for many years, I know first-hand the type of engineer they value and the culture they've built within the team.

This isn't a role being advertised to the wider market-it's an opportunity to join a high-performing team under a leader with an excellent reputation for mentoring, developing and promoting talented engineers.

If you're looking for a business where your ideas are valued, your career can genuinely progress and you'll have the opportunity to work on some of London's most diverse and technically interesting projects, I'd be delighted to tell you more.
