Section / Senior Engineer

SECTION / SENIOR ENGINEER – ROAD & BRIDGE PROJECT 

We're recruiting a Section / Senior Engineer to join a Tier 1 Contractor delivering a major road and bridge infrastructure scheme.

This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability on a flagship project.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day engineering delivery of your section, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. You'll carry out all the usual responsibilities expected of a Section/Senior Engineer on a major highways project.

Key Responsibilities

Managing engineering activities for your section of works.

Setting out, QA, record keeping and as-built documentation.

Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information.

Producing RAMS, ITPs and permits where required.

Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.

Ensuring health, safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained.

Liaising with site management, design teams and the client.

Supporting programme delivery and resolving engineering issues.

About You

Previous experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Engineer on highways, roads or bridge projects.

Strong setting out and quality assurance experience.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Able to work collaboratively with site teams and stakeholders.

Ideally experienced as a Buried Services Coordinator, with knowledge of utility coordination, surveys and avoiding service clashes (desirable but not essential).

Must live within a commutable distance of the project.
