How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    Join our schools residential team, where you'll support children and young people with epilepsy, autism, severe learning disabilities and other complex needs to live, learn and thrive.     Our School is part of the UK's leading charity supporting children and young people with epilepsy and associated conditions. Based on a beautiful campus in Lingfield, Surrey, our client provides specialist education and residential care for young people aged 4–25.

    Salary:

    * £12.71 per hour (£25,308.79 FTE) – Up to 12 months' experience

    * £13.09 per hour (£26,065.47 FTE) – Over 12 months' experience (unqualified)

    * £13.26 per hour (£26,403.98 FTE) – Qualified in Support Work or Health & Social Care

    * £13.65 per hour (£27,180.57 FTE) – Enhanced rate (eligibility applies)

    Salary is pro rata based on your contracted hours.

    Employment Capacity:

    * Permanent - You will interview with our client and be employed directly by them

    Hours & Shift Patterns:

    * Term-time only (39 weeks per year)

    * Full-time & part-time opportunities available (up to 44.25 hours per week)

    * Choose from Monday–Friday or Monday–Sunday working patterns

    Monday–Friday:

    * 06:45–13:30

    * 15:45–22:00

    * Long day (split shift): 06:45–13:30 & 15:45–22:00

    Monday–Sunday:

    * 06:45–13:30

    * 15:45–22:00

    * 06:45–16:00

    * 12:00–22:00

    * Long day (split shift): 06:45–13:30 & 15:45–22:00

    A combination of shift patterns is required depending on your chosen working pattern.

    * Support children and young people with personal care, daily living and independence skills

    * Encourage participation in education, therapy, social and recreational activities

    * Help create a safe, caring and nurturing residential environment

    * Work alongside education, therapy and healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding care

    * Build positive relationships with learners and their families while supporting those with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
