How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Homes Manager / Registered Children's Home Manager

    Location: Southport, Merseyside
    Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 DOE (plus overtime available)
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
    Home Size: 2/3 bed children's home

    Successful Candidates 

    Previous experience managing or deputising within a children's residential setting.
    Ability to register with Ofsted and successfully complete a Fit Person interview.
    Strong knowledge of children's residential legislation, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
    Experience leading and developing residential care teams.
    Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
    Experience managing budgets, rotas and operational performance.
    Ability to build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.
    Experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
    Commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for children and young people.
    Willingness to achieve a Diploma Level 5 in Children, Young People and Families Leadership and Management if not already held.

    Additional Information

    The role requires flexibility to undertake additional duties in response to the needs of the service.
    The successful candidate will be expected to submit an application to Ofsted to become the Registered Manager.
