How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HGV Technician

    £44,000 – £45,750 per annum

    Day shifts

    Full-Time | 45 hours per week

    We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and market-leading specialist in fleet vehicle solutions. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced HGV Technician to their workshop team.

    The Role

    As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a fleet of HGV vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGV vehicles

    * Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs

    * Repair or replace worn or damaged components

    * Conduct road testing to ensure repairs are fully effective

    * Respond to unscheduled repairs and breakdowns as required

    * Fit and service vehicle accessories such as radios and alarms

    * Complete service records and documentation accurately

    Key Skills & Experience:

    * Previous experience in a service or vehicle maintenance environment

    * Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a team

    * Well organised with a proactive approach

    * High standards of workmanship and attention to detail

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    * HGV Class 2 licence (desirable, not essential)

    Working Hours & Contract

    * Full-time, permanent position

    * 45 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00

    * Occasional overtime available at enhanced rates
