How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Ayrshire – Competitive Salary

Does the idea of joining a global manufacturing leader and working in a fast-paced, highly automated production environment sound like your next career move?

Our client is looking for a motivated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing facility where you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving plant reliability, performance, and efficiency. This role operates on a continental shift pattern (days and nights, including alternate weekends).

Are you who we’re looking for?

    • Completed electrical apprenticeship with an HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

    • Strong background in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment

    • Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills on PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems

    • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to breakdown situations

    • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude

    • Experience working with continuous improvement and root cause analysis is highly desirable

    • Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. You’ll be heavily involved in fault-finding on electrical systems, supporting root cause analysis, and working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.

You may also contribute to improvement projects, support equipment upgrades, and help drive long-term reliability improvements across site assets.

This role offers excellent opportunities for development within a highly technical engineering environment, with potential progression into senior or specialist engineering positions.
