How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer looking to work on innovative products across embedded Linux, RTOS and bare-metal environments?

    We're recruiting for a talented engineer to join a growing technology business delivering advanced embedded software solutions across a diverse range of industries. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects involving embedded Linux, microcontrollers, communications, robotics, sensing technologies and connected devices.

    What You'll Be Doing As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing, integrating and optimising embedded software for a variety of hardware platforms. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance embedded systems.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Designing and developing embedded software using C/C++.
    Developing applications on embedded Linux platforms and Arm-based processors.
    Working with RTOS and bare-metal microcontroller systems.
    Supporting hardware bring-up, board integration and system debugging.
    Developing and maintaining device drivers and low-level software.
    Optimising system performance and resolving complex software issues.
    Working closely with electronics and FPGA engineers during product development.
    Producing high-quality technical documentation and following software engineering best practices.
    Contributing throughout the full product development lifecycle from concept through to release.Skills & Experience Essential:

    Commercial experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
    Strong embedded Linux development experience.
    Knowledge of Linux kernel concepts, user space, device trees and embedded SoC platforms.
    Experience working with Arm-based embedded systems.
    Understanding of embedded debugging and hardware integration.
    Excellent problem-solving skills.
    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    A genuine interest in learning new technologies.Desirable:

    Experience with Yocto or custom Linux distributions.
    RTOS and bare-metal firmware development.
    Python, C# or another scripting/programming language for automation or tooling.
    Experience with embedded communications protocols.
    Knowledge of DSP, state machines or embedded algorithms.
    Familiarity with hardware interfaces and interpreting electronic schematics.
