Summary We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join our team in Chorley. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background managing complex bids in demanding environments, who thrives on delivering high-quality submissions to tight deadlines. You’ll play a key part in securing new business by leading end-to-end tender processes, creating compelling proposals, and coordinating stakeholders across the organisation.

Salary £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location and Working Pattern Chorley (Hybrid working available) 4-day working week

Client Overview A respected business operating in a regulated engineering sector, delivering innovative, high-quality solutions for clients across nuclear and technical industries. Responsibilities
Lead the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification through to submission and handover.
Coordinate inputs from technical, commercial, and delivery teams to develop winning tenders aligned with business objectives.
Prepare and review bid documentation including executive summaries, commercial proposals, and supporting material.
Ensure submissions are compliant, compelling, and delivered on time to exceptional standards.
Embed consistent processes and best practice across all tendering activities.
Develop and manage a library of high-quality response materials to improve efficiency and submission quality.
Track progress against annual bid targets and maintain accurate reporting.
Mentor and lead members of the Bid Team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Must-have Requirements
Proven experience managing high-value, multi-disciplinary bids within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting challenging deadlines.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a history of influencing across multiple functions.
Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and compelling proposals.
Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Nice-to-have Skills
APMP Certification or willingness to obtain it.
Experience in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear or engineering.
