How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Design Manager – Will take on a permanent or freelance basis - Fantastic project.

We are currently resourcing an opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to work for a London based Design and Build main contractor. They specialise predominately within the prime residential sector, the schemes are a mix of new build and refurbishments. The company has enjoyed consistent growth over the last 5 years and they still have exciting expansion plans for the future. They have recently been awarded a luxury residential new build project in the heart of Surrey valued at £250m. The scheme involves the demolition of an existing property and building of a luxury residential home. The project offers a complex and challenging work load for the successful Design Manager.

The Design Manager’s main function will be to co-ordinate and manage the design activity within the procedures required by our client, to ensure that the Design complies with the Contract Documents, current legislation (Building Regulations etc) and align with the Contractors Proposals and Commercial Plan. The Design Manager will be responsible for the management of the external consultants to ensure that design freeze and sign off is achieved to comply with the Contract programme. The Design Manager’s role is to support and be a member of the site contract team, offering expertise on supplying detailed and accurate information.

The successful Design Manager will ideally have an understanding of the prime residential sector involving luxury finishes and ideally an understanding of taking a project from "cradle to grave". The company will consider a range of experience from a minimum of 5 years to someone who has been around the block a few times. But must have a great ‘eye’ for detail.

Fabulous opportunity to join a growing company with a great client base, offering a really interesting and varied work load
