How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technician – Electrical

    Heysham, onsite full time

    Help keep the UK's critical nuclear infrastructure operating safely while advancing your engineering career in a highly skilled, future-focused environment.

    Are you an experienced Electrical Technician looking for a role where your expertise makes a real difference?     Key Responsibilities

    Carry out routine electrical maintenance across nuclear power station plant and equipment.

    Perform testing, inspection and fault-finding activities to maintain operational reliability.

    Support refurbishment, modification and plant improvement projects.

    Assist with planned outage activities across the UK nuclear fleet.

    Follow approved maintenance procedures, work instructions and RAMS.

    Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

    Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance.

    Build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners.

    Accurately complete maintenance records and technical documentation.

    Contribute to a positive, team-focused and results-driven working environment.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or a relevant engineering discipline.

    Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.

    Proven experience working as a Technician or in a similar engineering role.

    Experience within a highly regulated or safety-critical environment.

    Strong understanding of engineering health and safety standards.

    Knowledge of plant, machinery and electrical systems.

    Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions.

    Competent using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

    Strong communication and organisational skills.

    NVQ Level 3 in Lifting and Moving Loads is advantageous.
