Automotive Technical Specialist – Vehicle Technicians Welcome

Location: BGA, Groundwell Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN25 5AB
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:15pm. No weekend working.

At BGA, we’re looking for a vehicle technician to join our Technical team. This is an opportunity to take your practical automotive knowledge into component inspection, product testing and failure investigation.
You don’t need to have worked in quality control before. We’re interested in your technical understanding, approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn. We’ll support you in developing the product inspection and reporting skills needed for the role.
What you’ll be doing

Inspecting new products, production samples and stock to assess quality and suitability.

Investigating returned components to help establish why they have failed.
*
Using measuring equipment to check components against specifications.
*
Recording findings and preparing clear inspection reports.
*
Supporting colleagues and customers with automotive technical queries.
*
Working with our suppliers on inspection findings and product improvements.
What we’re looking for
*
Practical experience as a vehicle technician, with a good understanding of automotive components and how they work.
*
An enquiring mind—you like to understand why something has failed.
*
A careful, methodical approach and good attention to detail.
*
Confidence explaining technical findings to others.
*
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
*
A motor vehicle or relevant engineering qualification.
Experience using precision measuring equipment, reading technical drawings or carrying out component inspections would be useful, but previous employment in a quality control role is not essential.
