How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Part Time / Temporary or Permanent Opportunities

    Huddersfield
    £350 – £468.85 per week

    Flexible Start Dates Available

Are you a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs? We are currently recruiting SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work across supportive and inclusive schools in Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area.

We work with a range of schools seeking committed individuals to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Whether you are looking for flexible supply work, a long-term placement, or a permanent opportunity, we can help you find a role that matches your skills and aspirations.

    The Role

As a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils who require additional support to engage with their learning and school life.

You will provide consistent, personalised support based on the needs of the child, which may include assistance with learning activities, emotional regulation, behaviour support, and communication development. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure each pupil receives the right level of support to thrive.

The schools we work with are inclusive, supportive, and committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their individual needs or challenges.

    Requirements

To be considered for this SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant role, you will:

Have recent experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or SEN setting
Be confident providing 1:1 or small group support
Have a calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Be passionate about supporting children with additional needs
    Be adaptable, resilient, and proactive
Work effectively as part of a wider school team
SEN-related training or qualifications are desirable but not essential depending on experience

    What We Offer

As part of our team, you will benefit from:

Competitive weekly pay through the PAYE system
Flexible work opportunities to suit your availability
Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)
Access to CPD and training opportunities, including SEN-specific development
    Employer pension contributions
Opportunities to attend social and networking events
Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant throughout your placements
We are committed to supporting SEN professionals in finding rewarding roles where they can make a meaningful and lasting difference in children’s lives.
