How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEND Casework Officer
    North West Local Authority
    £300 per day (umbrella)
    Initial 3-Month Contract | Immediate Start

    We are currently seeking an experienced SEND Casework Officer to join a North West Local Authority on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong knowledge of SEND processes and legislation to make a meaningful impact supporting children, young people, and families.

    Key Details:

    £300 per day (umbrella)
    7-hour working day / 35 hours per week
    Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week on site
    Immediate start availableKey Responsibilities
    Support schools, settings, services, and families in applying the graduated approach to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND
    Coordinate the statutory assessment process for children and young people with SEND
    Manage Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans from assessment through to placement and review
    Monitor and review pupil progress against agreed outcomes
    Build strong working relationships with SENCos, headteachers, and education settings
    Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including SENISS, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, Social Care, and Health services
    Ensure all statutory timescales are met in relation to EHC plans
    Place children, young people, and families at the centre of all planning and decision-making
    Attend annual reviews for vulnerable pupils (e.g. Looked After Children, those at risk of exclusion)
    Support inclusion within local maintained settings wherever possiblePerson Specification
    Recent experience working within an educational or Children’s Services environment, ideally as a SEND Casework Officer
    Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND legislation, including SENDIST regulations
    Experience managing statutory assessment and review processes
    Proven ability to facilitate review meetings effectively
    Experience working in partnership with multi-agency teams
    Strong experience engaging with parents and carers
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
