How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The project will initially be carried out remotely, where you'll be responsible for developing and testing the PLC and HMI software. Once the software has been completed, you'll move into the commissioning phase on site in Plymouth, supporting the installation, testing and successful handover of the control system.

This role would suit an engineer who enjoys both software development and hands-on commissioning, with strong Mitsubishi PLC experience and a background in industrial process control.

    What's on Offer

    • 3–6 month Outside IR35 contract
    • £45 per hour during the remote software development phase
    • Increased hourly rate whilst commissioning on site
    • All travel expenses, accommodation and daily food allowance paid whilst working in Plymouth
    • Initial remote working with a later transition to site commissioning
    • Immediate start available

    The Role

    • Develop PLC software using Mitsubishi GX Works3
    • Produce and modify ladder logic programs
    • Design and develop HMI applications using GOT2000 and GT Designer3
    • Test, debug and optimise PLC and HMI software
    • Develop software for industrial process control applications
    • Configure and integrate CC-Link, CC-Link IE Field, CC-Link IE Control, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP communications
    • Carry out software testing and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) remotely where required
    • Commission and modify software on site in Plymouth
    • Fault find and resolve software issues during commissioning
    • Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and final project handover

    Essential Experience

    • Proven Mitsubishi PLC programming experience
    • Excellent knowledge of GX Works3
    • Strong ladder logic programming skills
    • Experience developing GOT2000 HMIs using GT Designer3
    • Experience with CC-Link, CC-Link IE Field and CC-Link IE Control networks
    • Good understanding of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP communications
    • Previous industrial process control programming experience
    • Experience commissioning PLC software on customer sites
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    Desirable

    • Experience working on process plants or industrial process control systems
    • Previous FAT and SAT experience
    • Electrical, Controls or Process Engineering background

If you're an experienced Mitsubishi PLC Software Engineer looking for your next Outside IR35 contract and enjoy delivering process control projects from software development through to site commissioning, we'd like to hear from you
