How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced Psychology and Sociology teacher ready to take the next step into a permanent leadership role?

    Can you deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS4 and KS5, supporting students to achieve their full potential?

    Do you have the subject knowledge, ambition and leadership skills to contribute to an already successful Psychology and Sociology Department?

    A supportive secondary school in Redbridge is looking to appoint a Head of Psychology and Sociology on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative department that values innovation, high standards and strong relationships with students. The department has an excellent track record, consistently achieving outstanding results across key stage 4 and key stage 5.

    As Head of Psychology and Sociology, you will teach Psychology KS4 and KS5 and Sociology across KS5, delivering the AQA syllabus for both subjects. This permanent Head of Psychology and Sociology role is suited to a confident subject specialist who can inspire learners, maintain high expectations and contribute to the continued success of both subjects.

    To be considered for this role, you will:

    Hold QTS and a relevant degree in Psychology, Sociology or a closely related subject
    Have strong experience teaching Psychology and Sociology across KS4 and KS5
    Demonstrate secure knowledge of the AQA GCSE and A level specifications
    Be able to deliver engaging, challenging lessons that support excellent student outcomes
    Show the ability to lead, motivate and contribute positively to a successful department
    Hold UK Right to Work and demonstrate high standards of professionalism
