How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Service Engineer – South Yorkshire – Automation / Material Handling – £43-45k + Company Vehicle + Overtime +

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based in South Yorkshire.

The successful Electrical Service Engineer will join a specialist service team responsible for maintaining, fault finding and repairing conveyor systems at customer sites across the UK. The role will suit an electrically biased engineer who enjoys travelling, working on different customer sites and solving problems. Expect to spend around two or three nights away from home each week, with occasional international travel.

This Electrical Service Engineer role would suit someone with experience of automated warehouses, logistics, bulk handling, materials handling, baggage handling, conveyors or general industrial automation.

Key aspects of the Electrical Service Engineer role include:

    * Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on material handling and conveyor systems

    * Electrical fault finding on control panels, sensors, motors, drives and associated automation equipment

    * Diagnosing faults, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions

    * Supporting breakdowns to minimise customer downtime

    * Completing electrical inspections, health checks and condition reports

    * Assisting with commissioning, upgrades and modification work on new and existing conveyor systems

    * Producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments for service activities

    * Working closely with mechanical engineers and controls engineers on customer sites

    * Travelling throughout the UK with occasional overseas trips

Previous experience of Siemens PLC fault finding and TIA Portal would be advantageous, although the role is primarily electrical rather than software focused.

The Electrical Service Engineer will ideally have:

    * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

    * Strong electrical fault finding skills

    * Experience with motors, sensors, variable speed drives and industrial control systems

    * A full UK driving licence

    * Willingness to stay away from home two or three nights per week

The successful Electrical Service Engineer will join a stable engineering business offering long-term career prospects, excellent training, enhanced pension, company vehicle, healthcare benefits and 25 days' holiday
