How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Supply Chain Manager
    Sector: FMCG / In House Logistics
    Location: Walsall, West Midlands
    Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home
    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum + Up to 20% Annual Bonus
    Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

    About the role:

    Loom Talent are proud to have been retained by a repeat client, who are rapidly expanding. As a result, are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their Supply Chain team.

    Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for driving performance across the end-to-end supply chain:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Developing and delivering supply chain strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
    Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies while reducing costs and increasing commercial income.
    Managing supplier partnerships and negotiating sustainable agreements that deliver value for both the business and their suppliers.
    Leading initiatives across backhaul, primary transport, centralisation, pallet storage, tray rental and consolidation.
    Using data and insight to identify opportunities, develop business cases and deliver measurable improvements.
    Managing supply chain Joint Business Plans (JBPs) to ensure cost-effective and efficient routes to market.
    Leading projects that improve systems, processes and supply chain visibility.
    Coaching and developing your team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
    Championing sustainability by reducing waste, improving transport efficiency and supporting environmentally responsible supply chain solutions.About You:

    The successful candidate for the role of Supply chain Manager will be an experienced supply chain professional with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders at every level.

    Essential Skills & Experience for the for the role of Supply Chain Manager:

    Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
    A track record of delivering cost savings, operational improvements and commercial value.
    Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into meaningful business decisions.
    Experience leading projects and implementing change across operational functions.
    Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Previous people management experience with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
    Previous experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced FMCG, Retail, Wholesale or Distribution environment.
    Experience in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment.
    Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies, stock management and supply chain principles.
    Experience driving improvements in stock availability, forecast accuracy and inventory performance.
    Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    Experience using planning systems and data to drive operational and commercial performance.
    Ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
    Be commutable to the Walsall area 3+ Days per week.Desirable

    Professional qualifications such as CIPS, ILM, Project Management or postgraduate study in Supply Chain or Logistics would be advantageous but are not essential.This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing business where you can make a genuine impact on supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.

    Package:

    Competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000
