How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for your next role teaching English in a school located in Southwark?

    Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting this Client, a successful and inclusive secondary school based in the London Borough of Southwark, in their search for an enthusiastic and talented English Teacher to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis from September.

    This Client is seeking a passionate English specialist who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to contribute to Key Stage 5 being advantageous. The successful candidate will join a committed English department dedicated to delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' literacy, critical thinking and communication skills while promoting academic excellence.

    The Role

    As an English Teacher, you will:

    Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    * Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that inspire a love of English language and literature.
    * Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
    * Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners.
    * Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
    * Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes.

    Qualifications Required

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    * A degree in English or a closely related subject.

    * A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements.

    Salary: London MPS/UPS

    M1 - M6 Salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6, UPS requires formal application. TLR payments made for agreed, sustained additional duties outside of regular teaching.
